As a preparation for the observational program of the first flight of the ‘Spectro-Stratoscope’ balloon-borne solar telescope, an attempt was made with the 35-cm aperture domeless Coudé refractor of the Capri Station of Fraunhofer Institute to obtain spectra of penumbral fine structure.
