Astrometry by asteroid occultations

For the determination of the dynamical equinox in fundamental star catalogues observed by astrometric satellites it is proposed to observe occultations of stars by selected asteroids. Being a long term programme now is the time for planning. Quadrature observations and photometric back-up are essential.
