The goals of this volume are: (a) to demonstrate that young children are sensitive to properties of language structure (such as word order), (b) to detail a new method for studying early language comprehension, (c) to provide a novel theoretical framework for understanding early syntactic development, and (d) to provide a clear and accessible account of language acquisition. The authors succeed splendidly on all four counts.
