For earlier lists of dissertations see the author's Doctoral Research on Russia and theSoviet Union (New York, 1960), for dissertations accepted through 1959, and the listings that have been published annually in the December issue of Slavic Review since 1964 (the 1964 listing also includes dissertations accepted in 1960-63). An announcement was made in an earlier number that volume 2 of Doctoral Research on Russia and the Soviet Union would be forthcoming shortly. Its publication has been held up, however, to provide a total cumulative list for fifteen years (1960-74). Volume 2 will include more than three times as many titles as volume 1, and will contain not only numerous classifications but also sub- and sub-subclassifications, with cross references, an index of Russian and Soviet names, and an index of authors.
