A. The Book of My Lords Servantts Wages and Boord Wages, 1559–1561

Abstract

A paper book bound into Dudley Papers III (a volume of miscellaneous papers assembled after Canon Jackson's sorting of the Longleat Papers). It is the first item in the volume and the foliation is sequential throughout. There is a modern pencil note on fo. 1, ‘E of Leycester. Book of Servants Bordwages Etc. 1 Eliz. 1558–9'; [sic]’. Internal references (pp. 403, 417) reveal that it was compiled by Richard Ellis and the dates of his last payments coincide with those of his main account.
