1 The only one which comes to mind is that by Hermann Kirchner (d. 1620), Professor of Poetry and History at Marburg, a declamation preserved in an English translation (the original Latin edition seems to be lost) and incorporated in Thomas Coryate's collection: Coryats Crudities, hastily gobled up in five months travells inFrance, Savoy, Italy, Rhetia… Helvetia … some parts of high Germany, and the Netherlands … that is to say, a most elegant oration, first written in … Latine .. .by Hermannus Kirchnerus … in praise of travell in generall… Another also composed by the author of the former, in praise of travell in Gertnanie in particular … .
