* In the 1930's the Association sponsored a radio series on politics and the governmental process and the publication of a collection of readings on American government, edited by Charles Beard. In the 1950's the Association sponsored a series of texts on Communism. And for five years in the 1960's the Association joined NBC in sponsoring a “sunrise semester” course on American government that was taught by Peter Odegard.
