1 Agreement was reached on a final text of the treaty, and it was subsequently signed on May 27, 1952, by representatives of the six governments. This paper was based on a draft of the agreement which underwent some changes prior to signature.

2 The Italian Government was the last to ratify the treaty on June 16, 1952. As a consequence, the treaty came into effect on July 25, 1952.
