Powder Diffraction is an International Journal of Materials Characterization. Although the most published articles discuss the use of X-ray powder diffraction, the journal has expanded over the years to include neutron diffraction, electron diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and additional analytical techniques all used for phase identification and material micro (and nano) structure characterization. The content of Powder Diffraction continues to increase as current subscribers to PDJ also receive the latest volume of the Denver X-ray Conference Proceedings Advances in X-ray Analysis, as well as access to online special supplement publications of recent International Conferences. For 2014 the Proceedings of the Australian X-ray Analytical Association (AXAA) 2014 Meeting will be published and in 2015 the Proceedings of the recently held European Powder Diffraction Conference, EPDIC 14, will be published. For the Powder Diffraction readers, the vast number and variety of publications provide a unique opportunity to stay current in the practice and theory of diffraction and scattering techniques.

For the past year, I have had the opportunity to serve as interim Editor-in-Chief for PDJ, and as I pass the baton to the new Editor-in-Chief, Cam Hubbard, I would like to thank many individuals that make Powder Diffraction a success. Editors Xiaolong Chen, Miguel Delgado, and Norberto Masciocchi; Editors for Crystallography Education Jim Kaduk and Brian Toby; Editor for New Diffraction Data Suri Kabbekodu; International Reports Editor Winnie Wong-Ng; Calendar of Meetings and Workshops Editor Gang Wang; Cambridge University Press Production Editor Kim Daly; and the Managing Editor Nicole Ernst Boris who kept the journal and me organized and on time. I would also like to thank our authors and readers, as you make the journal an important part of the materials characterization community. We look forward to your continued collaborations.
