On the persistence of protozoan infections in the cloaca of an anuran Xenopus laevis (Daudin)

Extract
Using the method developed by VanOrden & Nelson (1926) in withdrawing and examining cloacal contents of four captive individuals of the Plathander or clawed frog (Xenopus laevis), the writer determined that infections of ciliate protozoans had persisted for more than 6 years.
