A new record of Plasmodium ovale (Stephens, 1922)

Extract
1. Malaria parasites of the Plasmodium ovale type are recorded from Mauritius.
2. The chief differential characters between P. vivax and P. ovale are given.
3. Stress is laid on the difficulty of correctly diagnosing such an infection using the thick smear method.
