Arrangement of photographic illustrations as they will appear on the published page represents one important aspect in the culmination of the preparation process. Although only a few general conditions need to be met in order to prepare a proper composite illustration, considerable care and attention to detail are necessary to achieve the best results. In general, questions of tone of the illustrations, scale of each of the individual illustrations, and arrangement of the illustrations on the plate are the primary factors that must be considered in preparing the finished product.
