This issue of the Netherlands Journal of Geosciences (NJG) is dedicated to the mosasaurs. The first remains of mosasaur were found near Maastricht (∼1766), in limestone quarries. Many other remains have been found since then, making the southeastern part of the Netherlands an important find spot. Unfortunately, the holotype of Mosasaurus hoffmani is located in Paris, after it was looted by the army of Napeoleon. The papers in this issue cover an impressive and interesting range of topics, all related to mosasaurs. I thank the guest-editors Mike Polcyn and Anne Schulp for publishing the proceedings of the 4th Interantional Mosasaur Meeting in NJG.
The first year of cooperation with our new publisher, Cambridge University Press (CUP), was successful. Afer a slow start, due to a lack of manuscripts, we can look back at a series of nice papers published in 2014. This year will even be better. In addition, we welcome dr Fred Beekman (Utrecht University) as a new member to our team of associate editors.
