Among the most remarkable results in the theory of harmonic functions on Riemann surfaces is the strictness of the inclusion relations OG < OHB < OHD, established by Ahlfors [1,2], Royden [2,4], and Tôki [8] two decades ago. Subsequently the strictness of the relations OG < OHP < OHB was shown and a somewhat simpler proof of OHB < OHD given by Sario [5] and Tôki [9]. Here OG is the class of parabolic surfaces, and OHP, OHB, OHD stand for the classes of surfaces which do not carry nonconstant harmonic functions which are positive, bounded, or Dirichlet finite, respectively.

In [10], P. Montel defined the notion of a quasinormal family of meromorphic functions and obtained several results relating to this. Afterwards, in [13], H. Rutishauser generalized some of them to the case of meromorphic functions of several variables. By definition, a quasi-normal family of meromorphic functions on a domain D in Cn is a family such that any sequence in has a subsequence which converges compactly outside a thin analytic subset of D.

Let k be a p-adic number field and o be the ring of all integers of k. Let K/k be a cyclic ramified extension of prime degree p with Galois group G. Then the ring of all integers of K is o[G]-module. The purpose of this paper is to give a necessary and sufficient condition for o[G]-modale to be indecomposable.

In [2, Section 1.6] Peskine and Szpiro prove a theorem on adic approximations of finite free resolutions over local rings which, together with M. Artin’s Approximation Theorem [1], allows them to “descend” modules of finite projective dimension over the completions of certain local rings to modules of finite projective dimension over finite étale extensions of those rings. In this note we will prove a more general result, which deals with the change in homology under an adic approximation of any complex of finitely generated modules over a noetherian ring, and which allows one to descend not only modules of finite projective dimension, but also the Euler characteristic or intersection multiplicity of two such modules.

The purpose of this note is to clarify relations between multiple Markov properties (MMP) defined by Lévy ([8], [9]) and Hida [5] for Gaussian processes and to extend some work in Lévy [8] and Hida [5]. In the stationary Gaussian case it has been shown ([5], [4]) that these notions of MMP coincide. Interesting examples of (non-stationary) processes satisfying MMP can be found in [5], [8].

A nonsingular algebraic surface V is called a K3 surface if i) 1 = i.e. a canonical divisor Kv on V is linearly equivalent to zero; and ii) . When the characteristic is zero, condition ii) is equivalent to ii)′ q = dimension of the Albanese variety of V = 0, and always ii) implies ii)′ as in fact ≥ q ≥ 0, but in non-zero characteristic it can happen that > q ([6], [15]). When ii)′ is true, the algebraic and linear equivalences of divisors coincide on V, because of the duality between Picard and Albanese varieties of V, [8].

In [7], Matsushima studied the vector bundles over a complex torus. One of his main theorems is: A vector bundle over a complex torus has a connection if and only if it is homogeneous (Theorem (2.3)). The aim of this paper is to prove the characteristic p > 0 version of this theorem. However in the characteristic p > 0 case, for any vector bundle E over a scheme defined over a field k with char, k = p, the pull back F*E of E by the Frobenius endomorphism F has a connection. Hence we have to replace the connection by the stratification (cf. (2.1.1)). Our theorem states: Let A be an abelian variety whose p-rank is equal to the dimension of A. Then a vector bundle over A has a stratification if and only if it is homogeneous (Theorem (2.5)).

Consider a tower of principal fibrations

That is, Ei+1 is the pullback of Ei→Ri and the path fibration PRi → Ri. The question arises as to whether or not the tower can be shortened, that is, whether or not En+1→ B is fiber homotopically equivalent to a nice fibration E → B. If “nice” is taken to mean “principal” then sufficient conditions are known. They involve connectivity assumptions on the Ei. In this paper “nice” is taken to mean “D-relatively principal” for some space D.

In [5], R. Thorn has started the study of the foliated structures by using the Morse theory. Recently K. Yamato [7] has studied the topological properties of leaves of a codimension one foliated manifold by investigating the “critical points” of variation equation of the given one-form.

In the present note we shall construct a Lie algebra sl (2r + 2)-bundle over Grass (n, r), canonically, which may be useful for theory of holomorphic vector bundles probably.

Let X = (X(t); t ∈ R) be a real stationary mean continuous Gaussian process with expectation zero which is purely nondeterministic. In this paper we shall investigate the structure of splitting fields of X having finite multiple Markovian property using the results in [6]. We follow the notations and terminologies in [6].
