The Polymerization of Heterocycles on Clay Templates

Abstract

The oxidizing power of clays is put to use for the polymerization of heterocycles (pyrrole- and thiophene- types) in the 2D-interfoliar space and on the external surface of the clay particles. A mechanism is proposed for the oxidative polymerization.
