See if you can find the 8 differences in each set of images.

Nerds tubes

Cryogenic transmission electron microscope image of multiwalled boron nitride nanotubes 60 nm in diameter studded with vitrified low-density amorphous ice. The effect resembles a classic rope candy. False color was applied to reinforce the resemblance.

Hsin-Yun (Joy) Chao, National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA.

Colorful perovskites

Phase segregation in mixed 2D/3D metal-halide perovskite films give rise to areas of distinctly different photoluminescence as a result of different degrees of quantum confinement. Nikon Eclipse Ti-E microscope, 40X, 488-nm laser excitation and detection through photomultiplier tubes operating in different spectral ranges. Image size is 100 × 100 micrometers.

Maria Loi, University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
