Ensiculus cultellus (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Pharidae) a new Erythrean alien in the Mediterranean

Abstract
The razor clam Ensiculus cultellus, originally described from the East Indies, is reported for the first time from the Mediterranean Sea. A single live adult specimen was collected in Haifa Bay, Israel. Possible pathways of introduction are discussed.
