The statement from Ibn Qâḍi uhba occurs verbatim in that writer's notice of Ibn aṭîb al-Daha in his Ṭabaqât al-Fuqahâ—autogr. B.M. Add. 7,356, 151a margin, and Or. 3,039, 331b margin—where the father is mentioned as the author of the Miṣbâḥ, and the son's birth is put in 760 a.h. (in Brock. 750 a.h.).
