page 156 note 1 When Nāṣir (N.) is cited, his Dῐvān (ed. Tabrìz, a.h. 1280) is intended, unless otherwise specified. In the case of Jalāln'd-Dīn's poetry, the first book of the Mathnavī (M.) is cited from the Constantinople ed. of a.h. 1288, the other books from the Ṭihrān lithographed ed. of 'Alā'u'd-Dawla (a.h. 1299), while of the Dīvān only Mr. Nicholson's Selections (S.) are here referred to.
