The haemocytes of balanomorph barnacles
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 11 May 2009
Extract
The haemolymph of balanomorph barnacles contained very few haemocytes. The hyaline cell was the main haemocyte type found and this cell is capable of phagocytosing foreign bodies. A few semi-granular cells were also found, but granulocytes never occurred. Haemocytes were not found within haemolymph clots.
