page 474 note * The difference between μx+t and μ[x]+t so far as it depends on the change in β, leads to and the relation between Bt and B—2n(10–t)logε10.βc −t and the relation between βt and β would apparently be βt= β[1–n(19–2t)c−t ] where t is > 10. With regard to the determination of the constants, it would appear that if the value of m had been ascertained as stated at the foot of the page there would have remained three, not four, unknown quantities.
