We would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing editorial board members and international advisers for their work and commitment in helping us to produce a journal that continues to attract high quality, original and significant contributions to social policy research. We also would like to extend a welcome to new members of the editorial board of the Journal of Social Policy who are commencing their term in January 2022. We look forward to working with you over the coming years.

With great sadness though, we also have to report that one of our newly elected editorial board members, Dr Evan Williams from the University of Glasgow, was killed in a road traffic accident before he could commence his term on the board. Evan was a dedicated member of the Social Policy Association and its Money, Security and Social Policy network for Early Career Researchers. Having obtained his PhD in 2020, Evan was establishing himself as a new scholar, making important contributions to the study of unemployment, benefit conditionality and mental health in the UK. Our thoughts are with his partner, family and friends.
