3 The slovenly wording of the Lex Rubria is characteristic of Roman draftsmen, iiuir iiiiuir praefectusue is a stock expression corresponding precisely with municipium colonia praefectura, and is, of course, inappropriate whether followed by eius municipei (cap. xxi) or (still more) by Mutinensis in the ‘dummy’ formula of cap. xx.
