Abstract

Stability analysis of external magnetohydrodynamic modes is carried out to investigate an effect of the aspect ratio on the achievable plasma pressure. The decrement of the aspect ratio improves the achievable plasma pressure and increases the toroidal mode number of the external mode restricting the pressure.
