Craterolithus: a new calcareous nannofossil genus from the Oligocene of the Labrador Sea

Abstract

Craterolithus n. gen. is described. Craterolithus hoerstgensis (Müller) n. comb. is designated as type species, and its description is emended. This distinctive species occurs within a restricted range in the middle Oligocene (NP 23 to lower NP 24) of the Labrador Sea and northern Germany.
