104 St Jude's in Britannia Street was the first church built in London by the aid of the Bishop of London's Fund and was consecrated in 1863. It was regarded as a piece of eccentric work of the architect Joseph Peacock and seated a congregation of 900. The Church was almost without foundation and felt to be unsafe which was probably why it was sold so soon after its construction.
