Another hazard of ear syringing: malignant external otitis

Abstract

A case of malignant external otitis is presented. This occurred in a healthy 72-year-old non-diabetic, non-immunocompromised man after ear syringing. The infection was treated with oral ciprofloxacin for eight weeks with complete resolution.
