On Filaria martis Gmelin, 1790, Newly Recorded from the Leopard with the Description of a New Species of the Genus Filaria Mueller, 1787

Extract

1. Four worms were recovered from the subcutaneous connective tissue of a leopard. Of these two males and one female were identified as Filaria martis Gmelin, 1790 with the measurements given and a female described as a new species under the name Filaria russelli.

2. This finding is the first record of the genus Filaria Mueller, 1787 in a leopard.
