Call For Papers: Journal of Global History development editing workshop
The workshop is open to scholars working in the field of global history:
- for whom English is not a first language;
- who study or work at universities outside of North America and Western Europe at institutions where editing support is not readily available;
- whose initial submissions and evidence base indicate a clear fit with JGH’s mission statement.
Note: This process will be most suitable for those who have completed the research for their prospective article and are now looking towards publication. Acceptance into the workshop does not guarantee publication with the Journal of Global History.
Interested applicants should submit a CV and draft introduction of no more than 2,000 words (including footnotes). The introduction should make clear:
- Your focus (what/when/where) and argument (why/so what?);
- The theoretical/conceptual/methodological stakes of your study;
- How your work engages with existing historiography;
- Your sources of evidence;
- How your study engages with and contributes to the field of global history.
Completed applications should be sent to [email protected] by 1 March 2025.
Applicants should be prepared to submit a full, polished article draft (max. 12,500 words including notes) by 1 June 2025.
