4 Two translations into modern Japanese may be of interest to the reader: Yasuaki, Nagazumi, Uji shūi monogatari—Otogi zōshi in Koten Nihon bungaku zenshū (Chikuma shobo, 1961) Vol. 18Google Scholar, and Jōichi, Nagano, Konjaku monogatari in Koten Nihon bungaku zenshū (Chikuma shobo, 1960) Vol. 10Google Scholar. See also the latter's Konjaku monogatari in two volumes published by Kodansha in 1967. Of further interest is the work of Kunisaki Fumimaro, whose “Uji shūi monogatari no hyōka ni tsuite no ichi kōsatsu” appeared originally in 1964 and has since been republished in an important volume, Konjaku monogatari in Nihon bungaku kenkyū shiryō sōsho edited by Nihon bungaku kenkyū shiryō kenkyū kai (Yūseidō, 1970) pp. 240–252. Professor Kunisaki has also edited Konjaku monogatari in seven volumes (Meiji shoin, 1970). Nakajima Etsuji's latest notes and commentary are found in Uji shūi monogatari (Kadokawa shoten, 1960). Also of importance are Noguchi Hirohisa, “Kohon setsuwa shū no seiritsu to Uji shūi monogatari,” Gengo to bungei. Vol. 5, no. 4, 1963, pp. 253–263, and Kenji, Satō, Konjaku monogatari, Uji shūi monogatari in Nihon koten kanshō kōza (Kadokawa shoten, 1962) Vol. 8.Google Scholar
