Summary

In 450 oocytes, recovered from the vesicular follicles of prepuberal lambs and cultured in growth medium for 2–48 h, 76·4% resumed meiosis. The first evidence of polar body extrusion was at 18 h; maturation was completed in most oocytes by 25–27 h.
