Effect of thiourea on tuber yield of potatoes and uptake of phosphorus by tubers in the absence and presence of fertilizer phosphorus
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 27 March 2009
Summary
Field experiments were conducted at Fagu and Shimla in India in 1983 and 1984 to study the effect of thiourea (0 and 5 kg/ha) on tuber yield of potatoes and uptake of P with different rates of fertilizer P (0, 22, 33, 44 and 66 kg/ha). Application of phosphorus and thiourea, both alone and in combination, increased tuber yield and uptake of P significantly at both the locations in both years.
