[On September 9, 1993, a joint notification was filed in the Registry of the International Court of Justice by Nauru and Australia, informing the ICJ that a settlement had been reached and that they had agreed to discontinue the proceedings. By its order of September 13, 1993, the International Court of Justice: “Places on record the discontinuance, by agreement of the Parties, of the proceedings initiated on 19 May 1989 by the Republic of Nauru against the Commonwealth of Australia; and Directs that the case be removed from the list.”
