Assessment of On-Farm Losses in Cereals Due to Diseases

Abstract

Loss estimates are needed to develop rational economical control measures and to impress upon administrators and donors for efficient disease management. Losses can be actual and potential, incidental and regular, transitional and structural, primary and secondary. Various measuring principles and development of methods to estimate losses are discussed.

Résumé

Les estimations des pertes sout necessaires pour developpes des mesures de controle a la fois nationelles et economiques et aussi pour influences les administrateurs pourvayeurs d'ume festion efficace de la tuttle centre les maladies.

Les pertes penvent etre rielles on potentilles accidentelles on regulieres, de transition on structurelles, primaires on secondaires. Differents principes de mesures ainsi que le developpment de methods pour evalues ces pertes sout discutees.
