Orange-eye: a new autosomal recessive mutant of Ephestia cautella (Lepidoptera: Pyralydae)

Abstract

A new eye colour mutant, “Orange eye (Or.)” is described for Ephestia cautella, Baghdad strain. This mutation is inherited as an autosomal recessive mutant. Fecundity of the orange-eyed strain is significantly reduced while its viability is not affected.

Résumé

Une mutante nouvelle “de l'oell orange” est déscrite chez l'Ephestia cautella, souche Baghdad. Cette mutation hérite Comme une recessif autosome mutante. Certain parameters reproductive de l'éil orange est significativement diminue, mais sa vaibilité nést pas affécter.
