Understanding the dynamical evolution of post-merger accretion disks over a long timescale (comparable to their lifetimes) is essential to determine if these can power short GRBs. Here we present preliminary results of such a study, spanning 0.2 seconds, by using a realistic equation of state and taking into consideration the effects of neutrino cooling (the main agent, given the physical conditions in the disks).
