26 Loomie, A. J.(‘Richard Stanyhurst in Spain’, Huntington Library Quarterly, xxviii (1965), 148) suggests that Richard Stanyhurst also helped in the composition of the Conference. His reasons are that Stanyhurst was in Spain at the time, and that in his letter to Aquaviva of 4 June 1594 Persons said that there was an Irishman knowledgeable on the question of the succession. The links in this chain of argument seem to me rather weak.Google Scholar
