An Update on X-Ray Emission from Stars

With the closing of the Einstein and EXOSAT eras, the characteristics of stellar x-ray emission are now fairly well understood. In this very brief review, I will focus on two specific topics central to the physics underlying stellar activity: the rotation-activity connection and the “decay” of activity at the low mass end of the main sequence.
