Typology of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) in Children and Adolescents

Studied was the typology of PTSD in children and adolescents suffered in emergency situations (ES) (161 patients - 55.3% of boys and 44.,7% of girls in the age from 3 to 18 years). Four types of PTSD were identified: dissomnic (34.8%), phobic (23.6%), psychopathic-like (21.,7%) and astheno-depressive (19,9%). The least favourable course is noted in dissomnic and psychopathic-like variants. PTSD astheno-depressive type is characterized by the most favourable dynamics. PTSD phobic type in prognostic relation occupies the intermediate position due to clinical inhomogeneity of basic symptomatic and marked effect of premorbid personality factors, associated mental disturbances and microenvironment. There were no significant gender differences in the prevalence of PTSD individual variants identified. These variants are met with different prevalence in children of various ethnic belonging to and in different age groups.
