Fibromyalgia(fm) is a syndrome characterized by a chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, poor sleep, paresthesias, headache, irritable bowel syndrome, and other comorbid problems multitude of associated symptoms. The condition is described as primarily affecting middle-aged women. Fm has no known cause or cure, and it seems that a multidisciplinary approach to treatment is necessary to meet the complex needs of this patients. We have created, a multidisciplinary program that involves a cooperative effort among the departments of Neurology, Psichiatry, Immunology and Reumatology, and Physical Rehabilitation (University of Naples “Federico II”)to support the patients. After three primary visits the diagnosis is effected and we proposed to the patient the possible treatment pharmacological, psychotherapy or both, to follow. After treatment psychic symptoms significantly improved.
