This presentation will give a brief overview of comparison of DSMIV and ICD10 classification systems for mental and behavioural disorders. It will summarise what work was carried out in developing these systems in terms of their cross-cultural validity and reliability. It will also review the subsequent research into the validity and reliability of these systems. Finally some of the relevant approaches and methods would be discussed in relation to the issue of cross-cultural validity and reliability of diagnostic classification
