The relationship between mental disorders and cancer is complex. This lecture has three aims:

  1. 1. It will show epidemiological data on the prevalence and incidence of different types of cancer in people with mental illness;

  2. 2. It will highlight clinical aspects in people with cancer; and

  3. 3. It will discuss methodological issues when researching the relationship between mental disorders and cancer.
