Un caso de acatisia inducida por paroxetina y una revisión de la acatisia inducida por SSRI

Extract

Desde la publicación en 1989 del artículo de Lipinski et al [14] que informaba de la presencia de acatisia en cinco pacientes tratados con fluoxetina, ha habido varios informes de acatisia asociada con otros inhibidores selectivos de la recaptación de serotonina (SSRI), como la sertralina y, últimamente, la paroxetina. Además de la incomodidad que sienten los pacientes, las complicaciones secundarias más notables son el incumplimiento terapéutico y la ideación y la conducta suicidas. Queremos informar sobre un nuevo caso de acatisia durante el tratamiento de paroxetina y revisar los rasgos clínicos, así como la patofisiología de este trastorno.
