Un caso clínico de terapia cognitiva informal de las ideas delirantes por un cuidador: ¿un nuevo paradigma de tratamiento?

Resumen

La terapia cognitiva se ha utilizado de manera efectiva en el tratamiento de síntomas psicóticos como las ideas delirantes y las alucinaciones. La mayor parte del trabajo en esta área se ha centrado sólo en el paciente. Describimos a un paciente con esquizofrenia cuyas ideas delirantes tuvieron un buen tratamiento por su madre utilizando principios de terapia cognitiva informal. Los cuidadores primarios podrían involucrarse más como “co-terapeutas” en el tratamiento cognitivo de los síntomas psicóticos en algunos pacientes. Trabajos futuros tienen que explorar la efectividad y viabilidad de informatión de terapia cognitiva más estructurada para los cuidadores (como co-terapeutas) de pacientes con psicosis.
