Autoanticuerpos antinucleares en relación con el trastorno afectivo bipolar y la terapia de litio

Resumen

Investigamos la presencia de anticuerpos antinucleares (ANA) en 63 pacientes bipolares sin medicación y tratados con litio en comparación con 37 controles sanos. Se detectó una mayor frecuencia de ANA positivos en pacientes bipolares en comparación con los controles (19% frente a 5%, respectivamente, P < 0,05). Este resultado no estaba relacionado con el tratamiento de litio. No se detectaron anticuerpos anti-DNA nativo o anticuerpos reactivos a antihistona entre los sujetos positivos a ANA.
