Resumen

En las naciones formadas después de la desintegración formal de la Unión Soviética en 1991 han aumentado tanto las tasas de suicidio como las de homicidio. En las naciones de Europa Oriental han aumentado las tasas de homicidio, pero no las de suicidio después de la caída de sus regímenes comunistas en 1989.
