Laboratory infrared spectroscopy of PAHs

The hypothesis that polyaromatic molecules are the carriers of the infrared interstellaremission bands has spurred the laboratory spectroscopy of this class of molecules. Here wewill give an overview of the infrared spectroscopic methods that have been applied overthe past two decades to investigate the IR spectra of PAHs, their ions and relatedspecies.
