Expected outcomes of APS developments for astrophysical instrumentation
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 11 June 2009
Abstract
CCD technology is preferred for devices used for scientific applications, as CMOS devices were plagued by high dark current, high read noise, etc. Developments in the last 15 years have help circumventing these limitations and CMOS devices could now compete with some of their CCD counterpart.
