We investigate the origin of the variance in dust-to-gas ratio,D, among blue compact dwarf galaxies (BCDs), finding thatthe observed variance can be reproduced by two effects: (i)variation of gas mass contained in star-forming region; (ii) thecontribution of type Ia SNeto total SN rate. The two effects are found to affectlargely D when the metallicity reaches the typical valuefor BCDs. The two effects can be caused byintermittent star formation activity in BCDs.
