Abstract

The idea that the radio jets in AGN contain materialin relativistic motion is supported by many lines of observationalevidence, including morphology, brightness temperature estimatedwith interferometers and with intrinsic variations, interstellarscintillations, X-rays, and superluminal motion. These are largelyindependent, and taken together make an irrefutable case for relativisticmotion.
